Description | Viognier del Prieto Pariente Magnum - White Wine
Viognier del Prieto Pariente Magnum - White Wine is a white wine from Castilla y León, produced by Bodegas José Pariente from a small Viognier vineyard hidden in the province of Valladolid. This wine was born from a fortuitous discovery that led the family to delve deeper into working with white wines, seeking to reveal the full expression of this grape variety with an acknowledged inspiration from the Rhône. The result is an original, elegant and very distinctive white wine, presented here in Magnum format, ideal for sharing on special occasions.
In the glass, it displays a bright straw color with greenish reflections. On the nose, it reveals itself as fragrant and expressive, with floral notes, hints of wild herbs, citrus, and brioche. On the palate, it stands out for its well-integrated acidity, balance, roundness, and breadth, with a very fruity and mineral journey, evoking dry stone. The finish is persistent, citrusy, and pleasant, topped off by a fine bitterness that gives it precision and character.
The winemaking process combines different containers to enhance complexity and texture: part ferments in stainless steel, another part in ovoid concrete tanks, and another part in French oak barrels. This is followed by 6 months of aging on the lees, contributing to the depth and finesse of the whole. It is recommended to serve it between 9 and 12 ºC. It is an excellent choice as an aperitif and pairs very well with risottos, cheeses, and white fish.
