Description | Manzanilla Papirusa - Fortified Wine
Manzanilla Papirusa - Fortified Wine, from Lustau, is a Jerez manzanilla made from the Palomino Fino grape variety and aged under a veil of flor in Sanlúcar de Barrameda. It benefits from a humid microclimate and the influence of the sea breeze from the Guadalquivir River, elements that mark its distinct profile and help define the character of this classic wine.
It has a bright yellow color with golden reflections. On the nose, notes of chamomile, sea breeze and green apple stand out, accompanied by hints of hay and fennel. On the palate, it reveals itself to be completely dry, light, fresh and vibrant, with the tension and salinity typical of the style, making the tasting precise, clean and very appealing.
The name Papirusa means "beautiful and elegant woman" in Argentinian and was also the name of a doll given to the daughter of Emilio Lustau, the winery's first manager in the 1940s. It is a fortified wine with great gastronomic potential, ideal as an aperitif or to accompany Iberian ham, seafood, oysters, fish, and salads. It is recommended to serve it between 7 and 9 ºC to fully appreciate its freshness and aromatic expression.
