Description | Château Haut Brion 2020 Pessac-Leognan - Red Wine
Château Haut Brion 2020 Pessac-Leognan - Red Wine is a great Bordeaux red wine, produced by the historic Château Haut-Brion from Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. It is a highly prestigious wine, originating from the estate's old vines, whose identity reflects a benchmark terroir and a centuries-old tradition in the production of great age-worthy wines.
In the glass, it presents a magnificent and deep ruby color. On the nose, it reveals a first impression that is both intense and subtle; upon aeration, complex notes of ripe fruit, spices, and licorice emerge. On the palate, it enters ample, elegant, and very well-structured, gaining body and volume with great naturalness. The tannins are smooth and refined, leading to a wonderfully long, deep, and persistent finish.
According to the estate description, the wine ferments in stainless steel tanks and ages for 18 to 22 months in new oak barrels, a process that contributes to its depth, roundness, and aromatic sophistication. It is recommended to serve it at 16°C. It pairs very well with grilled or stewed red meats, game, duck breast, cured cheeses, and acorn-fed ham.
