Description | Castello d'Alba Limited Edition - Red Wine
Castello d'Alba Limited Edition - Red Wine is a wine from the Porto and Douro region, produced by Castello D'Alba from a blend of traditional grape varieties: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Francisca and Sousão. This combination brings together emblematic varieties of the Douro, giving rise to a red wine with a distinct profile and linked to the identity of the region.
According to available information, winemaking is conducted with great care. The grapes are harvested manually, subjected to total destemming, crushing, and a slight thermal shock. This is followed by pre-fermentation maceration in a cold lagar (traditional stone trough) for approximately 24 to 48 hours, before the must is transferred to small fermentation tanks. Fermentation takes place over approximately 15 days, with controlled temperatures between 24 and 26 ºC, and malolactic fermentation occurs naturally.
This process demonstrates a meticulous approach, focused on valuing the quality of the raw materials and the expression of the grape varieties. A Douro red wine crafted with attention to detail, designed for those seeking authenticity and character in a limited edition wine.
