Description | Quinta da Laboeira Vinhas Velhas Baga - Red Wine
Quinta da Laboeira Vinhas Velhas Baga - Red Wine is a Bairrada wine produced by Quinta da Laboeira, true to the identity of one of the most emblematic Portuguese regions for the Baga grape variety. Made exclusively from Baga grapes from old vines planted in 1931, it expresses a deep connection to the local winemaking tradition and the unique character of these ancient vines.
The winemaking process takes place in an open-air lagar (traditional stone trough), followed by 12 months of aging in used French oak barrels and, subsequently, a minimum of 12 months in the bottle. This process contributes to the development of a complex, elegant and balanced profile, respecting the authenticity of the grape variety and the terroir.
In the glass, it presents an intense garnet color and concentrated aromas of black fruits, such as plum and cherry, enveloped by notes of rockrose and eucalyptus. On the palate, it reveals structure, firm tannins, and a long, persistent finish, characteristics that reinforce its gastronomic potential. It is an excellent choice to accompany roasted red meats, game dishes, and aged cheeses.
