Description | Mouchao - Red Wine
Mouchao - Red Wine is one of the most emblematic wines of Herdade do Mouchão, in the Alentejo region, embodying a classic, profound style deeply rooted in the estate's tradition. Produced from Alicante Bouschet and Trincadeira grapes, it results from a combination where the structure, intense color, and depth of the former blend with the aromatic component and vivacity of the latter, giving rise to a distinct profile with great personality.
According to the house tradition, the grapes are foot-trodden and vinified in stone lagares (traditional wine presses), followed by prolonged aging in used wooden barrels for up to three years. After bottling, the wine remains in the cellar before reaching the market, reinforcing its serious character and its potential for evolution in the bottle. It is a red wine meant for aging, designed for long periods and capable of benefiting from many years of storage. A benchmark wine for those seeking authenticity, Alentejo identity, and a classic profile marked by patience and time.
