Description | La Val Sousón - Red Wine
La Val Sousón - Red Wine is a single-varietal Sousón wine from Bodega La Val, produced in the Rías Baixas region. This grape variety, historically cultivated in the Cordoba del Tea under the name Retinto, gives rise to wines of deep color, great aromatic intensity, and marked freshness. In the glass, it presents a high, almost dark layer with violet reflections, immediately revealing its Atlantic and expressive profile.
On the nose, it displays high intensity, with a predominance of small wild red berries, floral notes, toasted hints, India ink, Atlantic herbs, bay leaf, and an elegant minerality. On the palate, it is a red wine full of freshness and fruit, with very Atlantic mineral and saline sensations, in a vibrant and balanced whole. The must fermentation takes place slowly at 22ºC, followed by malolactic fermentation in French Allier oak barrels, where it remains for 6 months with batonnage on the lees, contributing to greater complexity and texture.
It is recommended to serve it between 12 and 16 ºC. It is an excellent option to accompany fresh Galician cheeses, octopus, fish, rice dishes, pasta, and white meats.
