DSF Private Collection Moscatel Roxo - Fortified Wine

DSF Colecção Privada Moscatel Roxo - Fortified Wine is a fortified wine from the Setúbal Peninsula region, produced by José Maria da Fonseca from the Moscatel Roxo grape variety. It is a wine with a distinct profile, highlighting the aromatic and captivating character of this emblematic variety.

It has an amber color with reddish reflections and an expressive aroma, highlighting notes of roses, tangerine, honey, nuts, and caramel. On the palate, it reveals itself to be very fruity, elegant, and smooth, with good consistency and a balanced acidity that prolongs the tasting experience in a very long finish.

According to available information, fermentation takes place with skin contact until February or March, followed by aging in used oak. This process contributes to the aromatic complexity and harmonious texture of the wine. It can be served as an aperitif at around 10ºC or at 16ºC as a dessert wine, demonstrating versatility at the table and in different consumption moments.
