Description | Burmester Colheita 1985 - Port Wine
Burmester Colheita 1985 - Port Wine is a single-vintage Port from the Porto and Douro region, produced by Burmester. It ages in oak barrels for a minimum of 7 years, a process that contributes to its aromatic complexity and overall elegance. The grapes are harvested manually at the ideal point of ripeness, then destemmed and crushed, followed by careful maceration in temperature-controlled vats to extract color, tannins, and aromas before fermentation is stopped at the right moment.
In the glass, it presents a pale color with an amber halo. The aroma is sweet, enveloping, and very complex, with notes of caramelized condensed milk, vanilla, chocolate, and dried fruit. On the palate, it reveals a smooth and silky texture, a round profile, good structure, and balanced acidity, characteristics that prolong the tasting experience in a long and elegant finish.
Served slightly chilled, Burmester Colheita 1985 - Port Wine reveals all its delicacy at the table. It pairs particularly well with desserts featuring caramel, dried fruit and spices, such as tarte tatin, crème brûlée or caramel fondant with apple and ginger jelly. It can also accompany mild cheeses, enhancing their sophistication and freshness.
