Description | BEYRA Riesling - White Wine
BEYRA Riesling - White Wine is a single-varietal Riesling from the Beira Interior region, produced by Beyra. It originates from a vineyard plot located in the village of Vermiosa, in the Castelo Rodrigo sub-region, at an altitude of approximately 750 meters. This high-altitude setting, combined with the schist soils containing quartz veins, contributes to the very distinctive identity of this wine, marked by the expression of the grape variety and the character of the terroir.
The grapes are harvested manually and carefully processed in the winery, with total destemming and immediate crushing upon arrival. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, with a controlled temperature between 16 and 17 ºC for approximately 20 days, using indigenous yeasts. After fermentation, the wine ages on fine lees with batonnage until bottling, followed by an additional 14 months of bottle aging in the cellar.
The result is a white wine with a distinct profile, showcasing the authenticity of Riesling grown at altitude and Beyra's meticulous style. An ideal choice for those seeking a white wine with personality, precision, and depth, originating from one of Portugal's most unique regions.
